Read the other reviews...don't know what they're talking about. Small menu, but don't let it scare you...order a pizza... And freaking enjoy. Group of four, four different pizzas...heaven. Excellent crust, excellent toppings, awesome beer selection. Waitress was attentive and super cool. Come here already. Can't say enough about the pizza, seriously.

It might be better if you can actually eat things that contain gluten, but trying to find out if there is anything that is gluten free is a struggle, and then the salmon was not very good.

Interest ambiance and an decent beer selection. Service was not their strong suit as our easy 2 person order was confused. Food quality (burgers) was adequate though the pizza to go was very good. Menu needs to be slimmed down to those dishes executed well.

Good food, good beer good service. Good place. They try to use Michigan products when they can, this I like.

Embarrassed that I haven't been to this place before considering I live about 4 min. away. My girlfriend and I met some friends to watch a football game @ hunters on Sat. night. Very good atmosphere. Real chill and not too loud. Huge projection screen to watch the game. Plenty of other flat screens. I did not eat here which I regret but others around me ate and said the food was delicious. Had a few local craft brews that were really good. Had a wide selection of brews to chose from. The service was really good considering how busy it was. Very spacious outdoor seating area. Just a very well run and nice looking bar all around. I will be checking in soon to give a review on the food. Good job Hunter's Ale House!

While the pizza was still fine, the Bacon and Blue burger was nowhere near as good as I'd have liked. Ordered correctly at medium-rare, it arrived at medium to medium-well, with just a splash of pink (the couple we ate with had the same problem). And, I swear, it's like this town has an ordinance to not season their burgers. Even with mustard and pepper added, there wasn't much flavor. The oranges that it came with (was planning on desert and drinks later, so no fries) were clearly from a container and were sitting in the juice they were packaged in. I still like their beer selection, but it seems to go up and down in quality because it is mostly Michigan beer. It would be great if they could expand by 4-5 taps to provide different styles (or, more varieties of the same).

Love the vibe and uniqueness! My boyfriend loves all of the local Michigan beer that they feature. We both think the food is very solid. This is quickly becoming one of our regular spots in Mount P.

We went here for our class reunion at the end of July. The servers were excellent with our large thirsty group and all the staff I encountered were friendly. Good to see a decent selection of beers on tap.

Went to the establishment to have a night cap beer. Was with my daughter who was underage so she could drive. The bouncers stopped us and told us it was $7 each to get in, HELL no! I watched the other couple question the cover and they let them in. Guess my money wasn't green enough. If this was the only place open I would go without!

I love this place! They have friendly staff, great live music and prices aren't high. Not to mention the food is great. These low ratings from other people make no sense to me.

Fish taco needed bigger pieces of fish. Out of 6 people only 1 liked the food. Drinks were watered down and service was slow and not knowledgable. The only good thing is we lost something and they found it and held it for us.

Ate here a few times in the past couple months. Great pizza deal ($4.99 do 2 topping) Monday through Thursday and the pizza is excellent! Wings are good as well. Good beer selection although heavy on IPA's at the moment. Overall an above average place in Mt Pleasant.

Calling this place an "ale house" might be the biggest problem. What's the deal with this place? Is it a pirate bar? Wine bar? Music bar? Or ale house? We went for beers because its an "ale house" the beer list was on a receipt. I didn't expect much from this place, so I wasn't too disappointed. The place was dead on a Saturday night.
